The social enterprise symposium organisers, in collaboration with the Irish Academy of Management, Social Economy Research Network of Ireland (SERNI), Waterford Institute of Technology and Carlow Institute of Technology, Ireland are inviting doctoral students, academic scholars, educators and practitioners to submit extended abstracts to the Social Enterprise Symposium and Interactive Discourse, to be held (virtually) on Aug 26 2021.

The inclusion of this theme into the 2021 IAM conference recognises the importance of the social enterprise sector in Ireland as a driver of future sustainable change, and provides an opportunity for the development of cross disciplinary debate, discussion and opportunities for collaboration.    The topic aligns directly with the theme of the IAM Conference as lessons can be learned for mainstream organisations from social entrepreneurs as change agents and disruptors, and their ability to adapt to develop more sustainable business models and achieve competitiveness in highly disruptive markets. Simultaneously the social entrepreneurship domain will be enhanced by understanding the application of management, leadership and strategy for social enterprise context and for scaling on a more sustainable manner.

At the Symposium, keynote speakers will explore social entrepreneurship from a multidisciplinary and multi stakeholder lens/perspective. The objective of this interactive panel session is to hear from different perspectives to bridge the divide and identify core areas of concern from policy, research and educational viewpoints. It will consist of national and international speakers who will guide the development of more integrative studies for funding purposes.
